Angelou, Maya
- A twentieth-century African-American writer, whose best-known work is I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings , an autobiographical account of growing up as a black girl in the rural South. Angelou read her poem “On the Pulse of Morning” at President Bill Clinton 's 1993 inaugural ceremony.
