  1. A vein that accompanies the middle cerebral artery deep into the fissure of Sylvius and empties into the basal vein; deep middle cerebral vein.

  2. A large vein passing along the line of the fissure of Sylvius to join the cavernous sinus; superficial middle cerebral vein.
