Mo·na Passage   (mō'nə)   
A strait between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic connecting the northern Atlantic Ocean with the Caribbean Sea. Mona Island, in the passage, was discovered by Columbus in 1493 and is today part of Puerto Rico.
