Fritz (Johann Friedrich Theodor) (1822–1897), German zoologist. Working mostly in South America, Müller made major contributions to the anatomy ofinvertebrates including the coelenterates, annelids, and crustaceans, to entomology, and to botany. From 1878 onward Müller published a series of articles reporting the mimicry that exists amongsimilar, unpalatable species of insects. This is now known as Müllerian mimicry.
