The characteristic tundra animal is the reindeer, though musk-ox, woolly mammoth, and others were wide-spread at this time.

They live on whale oil, blubber, fish and the meat of the musk ox, bear and other animals that inhabit the far North.

The most notable animals are the white-bear, the musk-ox, the reindeer, and the whalebone whale.

It is noteworthy that this mode of escape is attributed, at the present day, to both the musk ox and the Ovis Ammon.

There was no musk ox head exhibited by an amateur sportsman.
