Myxophyta

Myx*oph"y*ta\, n. pl. [NL.; Gr. ? mucus, slime + ? plant.] (Bot.) A phylum of the vegetable kingdom consisting of the class Myxomycetes. By some botanists it is not separated from the Thallophyta.
