Neruda, Pablo [(nay-rooh-duh, nay-rooh-thhah)]

A twentieth-century Chilean poet, widely considered the greatest of recent Latin-American poets. He also served in his country's senate and as its ambassador to France. Neruda won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1971.
