a person other than a duly appointed guardian who acts on behalf of an infant or other person not fully qualified by law to act on his or her own behalf.
Also called prochein ami.

Next friend is always a great word to know.
So is pardon. Does it mean:
the state of a person's mind that directs his or her actions toward a specific object
a release from the penalty of an offense; a remission of penalty, as by a governor; the document by which such remission is declared
