Orohippus

Or`o*hip"pus\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. 'o`ros, mountain (referring to the Rocky Mountain region) + "i`ppos horse.] (Paleon.) A genus of American Eocene mammals allied to the horse, but having four toes in front and three behind.
