Os`tra*coi"de*a\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ? shell of a testacean + -oid.] (Zo["o]l.) An order of Entomostraca possessing hard bivalve shells. They are of small size, and swim freely about. [Written also Ostracoda.]
