Panegyrize is one of our favorite verbs.
So is subtilize. Does it mean:
to chew (food) slowly and thoroughly.
to introduce subtleties into or argue subtly about.
Also, especially British, pan·e·gy·rise.

Origin:
1610–20; < Greek panēgyrízein to celebrate a public festival, equivalent to panḗgyr(is) (see panegyric) + -izein -ize
