pedocal   (pěd'ə-kāl')  Pronunciation Key 
Soil that is characterized by an abundance of calcium carbonate and calcium oxide. Pedocals are common in arid or semiarid regions where the rate of evaporation is greater than the rate of leaching. They are deposited in the A horizon of ABC soils.
