Inflammation of the peritoneum surrounding the uterus and the fallopian tubes. Also called pelviperitonitis.
As a rule, pelvic peritonitis is not attended with much exudation.
In pelvic peritonitis, in the course of forty-eight hours plastic exudation is thrown out and the pain to a great extent subsides.
