Plac`o*der"mi\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ?, ?, a tablet + ? skin.] (Paleon.) An extinct group of fishes, supposed to be ganoids. The body and head were covered with large bony plates. See Illust. under Pterichthys, and Coccosteus.
