Plac`o*ga*noi"de*i\, n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. ?, ?, a tablet + NL. ganoidei. See Ganoidei.] (Zo["o]l.) A division of ganoid fishes including those that have large external bony plates and a cartilaginous skeleton.
