Pol Pot  (pŏl pŏt') Cambodian political leader whose Khmer Rouge movement overthrew the Cambodian government in 1975. Under his regime executions and famine killed an estimated three million people. He fled the capital in 1979 when Vietnamese forces overthrew his government. |
