progressive muscular atrophy n.
Atrophy of the cells of the anterior cornua of the spinal cord, resulting in the progressive wasting and paralysis of the muscles of the extremities and trunk. Also called Aran-Duchenne disease, Cruveilhier's disease, Duchenne-Aran disease.
