provitamin A n.
Any of the carotenoids that are precursors of vitamin A and exhibit qualitatively the biological activity of beta-carotene; they are present in fish-liver oils, egg yolk, milk products, and green-leaf or yellow vegetables and fruits.

Provitamin-a is always a great word to know.
So is quincunx. Does it mean:
an arrangement of five objects, as trees, in a square or rectangle, one at each corner and one in the middle.
a stew of meat, vegetables, potatoes, etc.
