Py*rox"yle\, n. [Cf. F. pyroxyle. See Pyroxylic, -yl.] Pyroxylic \Pyr`ox*yl"ic\, a. [Pyro- + Gr. ? wood.] (Old Chem.) Derived from wood by distillation; -- formerly used in designating crude wood spirit.
