Rhizopodea Rhi·zo·po·de·a (rī'zə-pō'dē-ə) or Rhi·zop·o·da (rī-zŏp'ə-də) n. A phylum of microorganisms that includes protozoa such as the ameba that move and take in nourishment by means of pseudopods.
