J. T. Ainslie (1868–1930), British chemists. Rideal taughtchemistry and was an expert on the purification of water and sewage. He wrote extensively on food preservation, disinfection and disinfectants, and public water supplies. Rideal and Walker introducedtheir method for testing disinfectants in 1903.
