Salmonella poisoning n.
Gastroenteritis that is caused by food contaminated with bacteria of the genus Salmonella which multiply freely in the gastrointestinal tract but do not produce septicemia. Symptoms include fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
