Schüffner's dot Schüff·ner's dot (sh&oobreve;f'nərz, shüf'-) n. Any of the fine, round, uniformly red or red-yellow staining dots occurring in red blood cells infected with Plasmodium vivax or P. ovale. Also called Schüffner's granule.
