noun : PRONE PRESSURE METHOD Sharápey–Schaáfer /"shär-pE-'shA-f&r,/ Sir Edward Albert (1850–1935), British physiologist. Schafer held positions as professor of physiology at several British universities, hislongest tenure being at the university in Edinburgh. He introduced the Schafer method of artificial respiration in a paper published in 1903. His method came into wide use as a means of revivingapparent drowning victims.
