secondary disease n.

  1. A disease that follows and results from an earlier disease, injury, or event.

  2. A wasting disorder that follows the successful transplantation of bone marrow into a patient whose immune system has been destroyed by radiation, usually accompanied by fever, diarrhea, and dermatitis.
