semitendinous muscle sem·i·ten·di·nous muscle (sěm'ē-těn'də-nəs, sěm'ī-)
n.
A muscle with origin from the ischial tuberosity, with insertion into the medial surface of the upper quarter of the shaft of the tibia, with nerve supply from the tibial nerve, and whose action extends the thigh, flexes the leg, and rotates it medially.
