Snac"ot\, n. [Said to be corrupted fr. NL. syngnathus, fr. Gr. sy`n together + gna`qos jaw, because the jaws can be only slightly separated.] (Zo["o]l.) A pipefish of the genus Syngnathus. See Pipefish.
