noun Astronomy.
a binary star having components that are not sufficiently separated to be resolved by a telescope, known to be a binary only bythe variations in wavelength of emitted light that are detected by a spectroscope.

Spectroscopic binary is always a great word to know.
So is winter solstice. Does it mean:
the time when the sun is farthest south from the celestial equator occurring around December 21st
the magnitude of a star as it would appear to a hypothetical observer at a distance of 10 parsecs or 32.6 light-years
