Standard & Poor's Confidence Indicator

An investor confidence indicator in the securities markets that is calculated by constructing an index of low-priced to high-grade common stock. A rising index indicates increased investor willingness to assume risk and therefore indicates increased investor confidence. Compare Barron's Confidence Index.
