Stan·i·slav·sky  (stān'ĭ-släv'skē, -släf'-)  Russian actor and director. A founder of the Moscow Art Theater, he produced many of Chekhov's plays and developed an innovative method of acting that emphasizes the psychological motivation of the actor. |
