Stanton, Elizabeth Cady

  1. A reformer and feminist who joined with Lucretia Mott in issuing the call for the first women's rights convention in America, which was held at Seneca Falls, New York , in 1848. Stanton later worked in close partnership with Susan B. Anthony for women's suffrage . ( See Seneca Falls Convention .)
