straw yellow

Withamite is a carmine-red to straw-yellow, strongly pleochroic variety from Glencoe in Scotland.

Overdone assays show a straw yellow colour which deepens on standing.

Some are dark-brown, others reddish, and others again straw-yellow, as in Baluchistan.

The straw-yellow of the last phase is of course the fusion-color of the red and green glasses.

A very fast pendulum shows only a horizontal straw-yellow band on a green field (Fig. 8:5).
