Transcaucasia
a region in SE Europe, S of the Caucasus Mountains, between the Black and Caspian seas: constituted a republic 1922–36 (TranscaucasianSocialistFederatedSovietRepublic ); area now includes the republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
