Van Buchem's syndrome Van Bu·chem's syndrome (vän bōō'kēmz, vān)
An inherited skeletal dysplasia characterized by enlargement of the lower jaw and thickening of the long bones and the top of the skull. Also called generalized cortical hyperostosis.
