Viol·let-le-Duc  (vē'ə-lā'lə-dōōk', -dyōōk', vyô-lě'lə-dük')  French architect. A leader of the Gothic revival in France, he designed the restoration of the city of Carcassonne and supervised the refurbishment of many medieval buildings, including Notre Dame in Paris. |
