Wister

Mrs. Wister is an excellent example of what might more correctly be called a “paraphraser” than a “translator.”

He ask'd how Mr. and Mrs. Wister and the young ladies were, and sent his respects to us.

He accordingly came to Philadelphia, and there called upon Dr. Wister for advice.

I dared not decypher all that Mrs. Wister wrote in my behalf—because I knew it must be sincere!
