wu-chou

city, eastern Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi, southern China. It is situated at the confluence of the Xi River with its northern tributary, the Gui River, just west of the border with Guangdong province. The city occupies a location of strategic and economic importance, dominating the principal route between Guangxi and southwestern China, as well as the Guangzhou (Canton) area to the east along the coast of the South China Sea.
