Wuchereria Wu·cher·e·ri·a (wōō'chə-rēr'ē-ə, vōō'kə-)
A genus of filarial nematodes of the family Onchocercidae characterized by adult forms that live chiefly in lymphatic vessels, causing obstruction to lymph flow and producing large numbers of embryos or microfilariae that circulate in the bloodstream.
