Xerxes 
king of Persia who reigned 486-465 B.C.E., Gk. Xerxes, from O.Pers. Xšayaršan, lit. "male (i.e. 'hero') among kings," from Xšaya- "king" (cf. shah) + aršan "male, man." The Heb. rendition was Ahashwerosh, Ahashresh.
