a sharply directional antenna array, consisting of one or two dipoles connected to the transmitting or receiving circuit, and several insulated dipoles all parallel and about equally spaced in a line.

Origin:
1940–45; named after Hidetsugu Yagi (1886–1976), Japanese electrical engineer
