Dictionary.com Word FAQs

Where can I find out when National <whatever> Day is or National <whatever> Month is?

Every day, week, and month seems to have been claimed by some world, national, or local organization to focus on its cause. The book source for this information is Chase's Calendar of Events, (New York: McGraw-Hill/Contemporary Books, series). Many Web sites try to keep track of things that range from commonly known days like Armed Forces Day to the more obscure National Columnist's Day as well as National Prevention of Eye Injuries Awareness Week and National Iced Tea Month. However, these free Web sites often cannot keep up with the annual changes in specific dates for these events/celebrations. Chase's Calendar of Events can be found in most public libraries.
