aporepressor ap·o·re·pres·sor (āp'ə-rĭ-prěs'ər)
A repressor that combines with a specific corepressor to inhibit transcription of certain genes; it is a homeostatic mechanism for the regulation of repressible enzyme systems. Also called inactive repressor.
