Bárány's caloric test Bá·rá·ny's caloric test (bä'rän'yəz)
A test for assessing vestibular function in which the ear is irrigated with either hot or cold water, normally stimulating the vestibular apparatus, resulting in nystagmus; a lack of nystagmus indicates impaired vestibular functioning.
