cat scratch disease n.
An infectious disease that may follow the scratch or bite of a cat, producing localized inflammation of lymph nodes and a low-grade fever. Also called benign inoculation lymphoreticulosis, benign inoculation reticulosis, cat scratch fever, regional granulomatous lymphadenitis.
