sphingomyelin sphin·go·my·e·lin (sfĭng'gō-mī'ə-lĭn)
Any of a group of phospholipids that are found especially in nerve tissue and yield sphingosine, choline, a fatty acid, and phosphoric acid upon hydrolysis.
