He was admonished of his error by the chief of the race of Seljuk, who dwelt in the territory of Bochara.

It is still called Konia, and it was the capital of the Seljuk Turkish empire for several centuries.

Orkhan succeeded his father and continued the work of conquest, gathering in the outlying fragments of the broken Seljuk Empire.

There are interesting remains of Seljuk buildings, all showing strong traces of Persian influence in their decorative details.
