Tamatave

M. Leon Humblot has told how he and his brother once entertained six guests at Tamatave; within twelve months he alone survived.

In 1845, one English and two French men-of-war attacked Tamatave, but were repulsed with considerable losses.

He was very sorry, but said if I could find any one going to Tamatave who would carry a Bible back to me, he would send one.

The one native who showed honesty and courage in successfully opposing them at Tamatave the French subsequently executed.
