Internet Explorer 6/7 Bookmarklet Instructions

For each site, there is a different piece of code that is needed for the bookmarklets to work correctly. Please follow the instructions below for the site of your choice.

Dictionary.com Bookmarklets

1. Make sure the Links toolbar is visible (ensure View->Toolbars ->Links is checked).
   
2. In the Favorites menu, select Add to Favorites.
   
3. Type "Dictionary.com Search" in the Name field.
   
4. In the Create In box, select the Links folder. Click OK.
   
5. Copy the text of the bookmarklet, above.
   
6. Right-click on the new "Dictionary.com Search" link in the Links bar, and select Properties.
   
7. Paste the bookmarklet text into the URL field. Click OK.
   

Thesaurus.com Bookmarklets

1. Make sure the Links toolbar is visible (ensure View->Toolbars ->Links is checked).
   
2. In the Favorites menu, select Add to Favorites.
   
3. Type "Thesaurus.com Search" in the Name field.
   
4. In the Create In box, select the Links folder. Click OK.
   
5. Copy the text of the bookmarklet, above.
   
6. Right-click on the new "Thesaurus.com Search" link in the Links bar, and select Properties.
   
7. Paste the bookmarklet text into the URL field. Click OK.
   

Reference.com Bookmarklets

1. Make sure the Links toolbar is visible (ensure View->Toolbars ->Links is checked).
   
2. In the Favorites menu, select Add to Favorites.
   
3. Type "Reference.com Search" in the Name field.
   
4. In the Create In box, select the Links folder. Click OK.
   
5. Copy the text of the bookmarklet, above.
   
6. Right-click on the new "Reference.com Search" link in the Links bar, and select Properties.
   
7. Paste the bookmarklet text into the URL field. Click OK.
