to hand in; to show
We’ve already come across presentar used when when you introduce people.
Le presento a Carlos Solchaga, un compañero de trabajo.
This is Carlos Solchaga, a colleague of mine.
Among the many other meanings of presentar is handing in an essay at college:
Mañana tengo que presentar un trabajo.
I have to hand in an essay tomorrow.
Or showing a document to get in somewhere:
Hay que presentar carné de estudiante para tener derecho al descuento.
You have to show your student card to get the discount.
