La cara refers primarily to your face.
Tiene la cara alargada.
He has a long face.
Another meaning of cara is the face of a mountain:
Intentaron ascender por la cara norte.
They tried to climb the north face.
La cara also denotes the side of a CD, or a piece of paper:
un folio escrito por las dos caras
a sheet of paper with writing on both sides
